Use pageinit event. At pageinit the page has already been enhanced. The list will exist at that point.And that is the root cause of the problem (so do I think) : the list does not yet exists when dialog is created

Yes , in fact I did, but the problem is to target a specific ui-select, if you have many lists or selects in your appli.You can target ui-select, though. (Even better than ui-dialog, as it's more specific.)
