Id like to use jQuery Mobile to all my web applications, whether for visualization desktop, tablet or smartphone. Because I understand that this library jquery works for all platforms, so why not use it forever?
I wouldn't say always but its a great framework for smartphones and tablets...very user friendly. Phones/Tablets are on the rise as a primary content viewer. JQM might be slow on blackberries and other phones but works o find on android/iphones in terms of speed....but developers are trying to make it even faster and better which is very encouraging to continue with jquerymobile down the road, plus smartphones are getting faster and faster ever month it seems soo jquerymobile benefits greatly.
I would say use it across the board. I think the borders between devices will blur() more and more. See the new windows for example, which runs the same UI across smartphone, tablet and PC. You still need some tricks for desktop (CSS grid, multi columns), but other than that I think JQM is really nice for desktop as well.
