"hide" problem on IE8

ok so, i used the script on this tutorial for my site: http://andylangton.co.uk/articles/javas ... show-hide/
notice a problem when you show and then HIDE the link on explorer 8.

everything in the bottom of the show/hide link gets all attached togheter. i got this same problem on my site. is this a css problem or a js problem?
