How can i call phonegap functions in html

Im building a basic html application for mobile using jquery mobile and phonegap build. i have a button for closing the application in mobile. i got the code for closing the application. my code is

  function close_app(){ navigator.app.exitApp(); }

I build my application with phonegap build . and tested it in my android phone but the code is not working for me. Can you tell me is it possible to use phonegap functions in build phonegap. if possible how can i do that?

You could try testing your application on Ripple Emulator which is a Chrome Extension that runs your application in the context of Chrome( so you have to host your application in a webserv, I use apache http/tomcat). It allows you to select Cordava/Phonegap as a platform and will automatically inject phonegap/cordava.js when it's running your application. When you execute phonegap's API, it will display a dialog acknowledging that it recognizes that API has been invoked.

You could use this above method as a debugging step to make sure that your application is indeed calling phonegap API w/o having to port to your device after making small changes here and there.
