Can anyone tell me why? I can't seem to find anything wrong, I've tried different versions of jquery, including the 1.3.2 which ships with the visual studio and the latest the 1.4.2 and nothing every works at all. I've even tried $(document).ready and just $() and I still get no results. Can anybody help me?
great explaination KBoudloche's, I was having the same problem and you were my savior. is it a way that the jquery library can sence that application was used instead of text and make a dynamic ajustment on the fly if a user is on explorer.
The problem you were having was likely a css issue. I noticed that only in ie8 Standards Mode my tables were not resizing properly and after debugging noticed that my css for the table had a duplicate entry. There must be a difference in the way that jquery.<object>.css("border-left-width") responds in ie8 as the following code rendered correctly in ie7 and ie9 Standards Modes:
