@Lwangaman - that thread is a year old, it was only bumped b/c someone replied recently with the same issue we're all having now.
It's not clear to me whether they restored an old database backup or what, but obviously many people have been affected. So it would be nice if someone involved in the web site maintenance could drop in here with some info.
Of course it's all community supported and jQuery is an awesome product of that community. I could never fault people who don't get paid for doing things, for not doing them. Unfortunately though that plugin site is still a primary stop for people looking for plugins so I think it should either have some basic level of maintenance or be removed.
