Set Background Color

I have a simple page that uses JQuery mobile. The page links to a style sheet, which contains the following:

body
{
background-color: #333333;
}

Basically, it just sets the background color. However, if the JQuery style sheet is included (even before my stylesheet), then the background color in my style sheet is ignored.

<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.0a2/jquery.mobile-1.0a2.min.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/styles.css" type="text/css" />

Is there any way to prevent this? I just want to set the background color of my page (via a style sheet).

Try something like this:

<style>

.ui-page { background: gray;}

</style>

Not directly.

Just use firebug or the webkit debugger and look at the generated html/css. You can then reference the JQM

css file to see what you need to change.

You can use this if you want a bg image that does not slide with a page change.

body {

background: url(images/bg/grass.jpg);

}

.ui-page {

background: transparent;

}

Hello,

I am have the same problem changing the background.

I did add the code above : .ui-page { background: gray;} that changed it GREAT

1. How can I have it do the fade like it was doing?

Example: fade this color #E01B6A to #00000 either top to bottom or bottom to top

2. Can it work on color codes instead of the names of color ?

3. How can I change the button colors to any color?

I'm using the data-theme="b

I would like to use any color code for the buttons

Use the ThemeRoller at http://jquerymobile.com/themeroller to define themes to use any colors and gradients that you want without doing custom overrides of the jQM CSS definitions. Everything you've asked can be configured via the ThemeRoller.

I have tried but it does not seem to work... or I can't get it to work.

The over ride is more what I want because I want it right in the html and the fix that rsepulveda gave is so simple to edit to any color fast and with out the need to search 1000's of lines of css code.
