Slide Viewer Pro Hybrid.

Hi all,

I am lookinf for assistantce regarding achieveing a similar effect as show on: http://www.gcmingati.net/wordpress/wp-content/lab/jquery/svwt/index.html

In essence I do not want the thumbnails in an unordered list but each thubmnail in an individual Div along with the main image to be swapping also in another Div whislt maintaining the sliding transition effect.

The thumbnails generated by slideviewer are at times pixelated and I would prefer control over the placement of each individual thumbnail (including their quality and size) through css by placing them in individual named Divs.

Does anyone know of an easy way to do this or an existing script which does that?

take a look at jquery cycle

the pagerAnchorBuilder option can generate the thumbs for you, or you can use your own markup

Carlietfl, many thanks, I had a look at jquery cycle it doesnt seem to have the same sliding effect as slideviewer pro.

The thumbnails "generated" by SVP are not generated at all. They are the same image, just scaled.

By keeping your thumbs next to the images, like images/01.jpg & images/01-thumb.jpg, you could add one line of jQuery to use your thumbs instead.

If you’re interested, I’ll figure out the perfect one liner addition.

Jake,

That would be fatastic, as the thumnails lose quality upon scaling down, additionally would I be able to put each thumbnail in an idividual Div instead of a list format, along with the main image to swap in a different Div?

no additionally, no extra divs, no along with.

If you code the ordered list, and call SVP as per the website, I know I can modify the names of the images when used as thumbs to be different images. I’m suggesting a one-liner type patch, not a re-write. I wasn’t planning on becoming intimate with this plugin, just changing the thumbs.

Are you up for that?

the one liner is

$('.thumbSlider img').each(function(){this.src=this.src.replace(/\.jpg$/,".thumb.jpg") })

It changes all the thumbs from xxxxxx.jpg to xxxxx.thumb.jpg

Jake,

Many thanks and apologies for the delay in responding. I'll give this a try and see how it works, I'll also have a look at a way of putting the thumbnails in Divs so they can be manipulated individually with regards to their postioning rather than being bound by lists.
