I have a ajax build web page with 10 to 15 ul-lists with up to 20 list-items each. I want to activate the sortable function with with a button. If I have the connectWith option at the sortable to connect these 10-15 lists, the activation of the sortable takes a lot of time with high cpu load and the dragging of the list-items is very laggy. Any ideas how to speed it up?
I can't show you the complete code or the sample because it it companys intranet but here is a part from the ajax and the sortable and the structure of the lists: I just recognized, that IE8 is much slower than FF but nevertheless it is slow with FF. Think the difference is the slower ID searching from IE, isn't it?
List structure: Every List item has a table inside with some rows. Every tablerow is a category that can be switched on/off (display on/off) by checkboxes at the top of the page for all ul-lists.
