superfish - dropdowns are showing under other elements on page

Probably not plugin specific and is probably better off in a css forum, but maybe someone here can help.

I have a page I'm laying out and I'm using superfish for dropdown menus.  But the dropdown menus are appearing under other elements on the page in Internet Explorer.  in Chrome it shows just fine.

I have attached screenshots to show what's going on.
