I have the same issue (Firefox 4 or 3.6 or Chrome 10.0.648.151)

if i try to use themeRoller bookmarlet i have the javascript error :

1. uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [href*=parseTheme.css.php]
2. http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js
3. Line 16

How reproduce it :

1- Go to http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/developertool/
2- Click on ThemeRoller dev tool button
3- Try to use a different theme from the gallery

Nothing change and the javascript error appears.

I absolutely update all components:

Firefox 4.0
jQuery 1.5.2
jQueryUI 1.8.10

And problem still remains. In fact, the message:

1. uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [href*=parseTheme.css.php]

Appears everywhere you try to use, even if you try in http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/ not using integrated Themeroller, but Firefox Bookmarklet. But, in this case, and even if error appears, theme changes.

I have checked too that GET calls on gallery stop to work. Just sometimes if you click like insane :) Maybe is it a bug of asynchronus programming?

Apparently the value in an attribute selector needs to be quoted...  [href*="parseTheme.css.php"] 

yea, i added the double quote to parseTheme.css.php on my own file, it is working fine now.

The above link didn't work for me, but I was able to solve the issue thanks to this thread...note that in addition to adding quotes around parseTheme.css.php, it seems you now also need to do it for ui.theme.css.

Here's the full fix:

1. Download this page (just the HTML):
   http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/developertool/
2. Update all the <link> and <script> tags to make them absolute URLs (e.g. http://jqueryui.com/repository/tags/latest/themes/base/ui.core.css in the case of the first stylesheet).
3. Search for developertool.js and replace it with an absolute URL on your own server -- you will need to download http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/developertool/developertool.js.php so that you can make the necessary edits and then upload to your server.
4. Find all instances of link[href*=parseTheme.css.php] and add quotes around parseTheme.css.php; do the same for link[href=ui.theme.css]. Or, just replace this whole section with the code below.
5. Load up your version of developertool.htm - test to make sure it's working...color changes should take effect immediately.
   
6. Drag and drop the bookmarklet to Firefox's bookmarks toolbar.
7. You should now be able to dynamically control styles on your own page - awesome!

I just identified the origin of the bug myself, and fixed it slightly differently.

You can set the 'ThemeRoller Dev Tool' link to:

This will replace the faulty code (jquitr.reloadCSS) after 1.1seconds (hopefully after the delay required to load the 'php' link.

I've found the above answer very helpful, though it won't work with Firefox versions above 10.
Here's a fix for that:
