Upgrading to include .show() and .hide() with drop effect
in Using jQuery UI

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!
My website was built in 2009 and uses javascripts/jquery-ui/js/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js . I'm building a new webpage, and I'd like to use the .show() and .hide() with drop effects.
- Does this version of jquery include these effects? I'm having trouble finding them if so.
- If this version does not include these effects, should I just upgrade to 1.9?
- Is there an easier way to just include the effects that I want without upgrading completely (I'm concerned that a lot of my other functionality will stop working?)
