First of all, let me preface that while I understand jquery syntax and basic functions, my experience with all of the animations/effects is quite limited.

I am working on a panel that is positioned overtop of an accordion. The panel serves as a cover to hide the accordion content, until the user clicks on a button which slides the panel away (to the left), revealing the accordion behind.

From a technical standpoint, this is functioning using the code below:
