I have a rather simple problem (I think) but can't seems to find a simple solution.

I have a table and one of the cells has a 'today' class. 

My solution was to get the index of 'td.today' and then slice all table cells until the index, but $('td.today').index() returns '0' since it is the first element in that particular table row ...

Can anyone provide a simple solution?

I wonder how you reload a page, when you manually delete browser cookies using the browsers Ctrl + Shift + Del menu.

Something like:

I'm have looked on the internet for a solution,  but I find nothing but pages on how to delete cookies using JS.

Is there a way to select more than one element with eq() or index() ?

I want to select list item 1 and 2 (index: 0 and 1)

For some odd reason my webbrowser (FF + android) is requesting the content of a dialog twice.

This is my pretty basic code:

Any suggestions on how this can happen? This is pretty much a standard page ...

The list items represent folders. When a user clicks one of the list items an ajax call should get the content of that folder, then the folder must slide down (like a slide down menu) and the new files should appear under the folder. I wonder how to create the slidedown itself. I could code this in jQuery itself, but wonder if there are native jQuery mobile methods to do this?

I want to create an overlay to show a photo in the middle of the screen with a navigation menu. As overlay I use something like:

.overlay {

      position: absolute;

      top: 0;

      left: 0;

      z-index: 1000;

      height: 100%;

      width: 100%;

      background-color: grey;

      opacity: 0.5;

}

This works fine, however you can still click on links on the page under the overlay.

Does anybody know how to do this properly?

I'm playing arround with integers. 

1.000.000,00 // throw error

1,000,000,00 // throw error

1000,00 // success

100.00 // success

And on success I have to get all numbers before the dot or comma :-)

Can anybody help me with this?

I have created a carousel which animates a wrapper to the left every x-seconds. It works very well, except when I leave the webpage (without closing, just open another tab) and come back after x-minutes. Suddenly the carousel is rotating very fast, like it tries to attain itself. After a while, the carousel is rotating normal again. I understand how this (probably) comes but wonder if there is a work arround?

I'm struggling with this issue for quite some time, so help is very much appreciated.

About 2 years ago I purchased the domain jquery-plugins.com. I wanted to create a user friendly website where developers can easily upload and maintain jQuery plugins, because the current website doesn't satisfy me. Other developers can view demos and download these plugins. Usability and maintainability (updates of jQuery plugins) will be the keywords of this new website.

However, I don't seem to find the time to create this website all by myself. Perhaps there are other developers who would like to contribute. The plan is to create an online messageboard where developers can discuss the structure and design of the website. There will be a need for front end and back end developers and  a designer. I would like to let the website be programmed in PHP with MySQL as db, or use an existing platform as CMS.

It will become a non-commercial website.

You can send me a private message, or respond in this topic with questions or your availability.

I'm not seem to not find the event which is triggered the moment the drag stops, but still needs to move in place, using the sortable plugin.

Does anybody knows this?

I'm playing with the Google GeoCoding API. In the docs they give an example URL to request a position:

When you surf to this URL you get a JSON file returned. However, when I paste the exact same URL in a $.get(), I got nothing in return ...

I have uploaded a map and positioned arrows on that map to city's. When people hover an arrow, a box with little information about the city fadeIn(). When people move the mouse away from the arrow, the box fadeOut(). Simple as that! 

However, when you hover over the right bottom of the arrow (it is a .png image) the .hover() is triggered over and over again, which makes the box fade in, fade out, fade in, fade out, ... 

Does anybody know a workarround?

EDIT: Just noticed it only appears to happen in Firefox. However, the other browsers are reacting strange  also ... please try the test-example.

On jquerymobile.com I read:

pagecreate: Triggered on the page being initialized, after initialization occurs. We recommend binding to this event instead of DOM ready() because this will work regardless of whether the page is loaded directly or if the content is pulled into another page as part of the Ajax navigation system.

 alert('This page was just enhanced by jQuery Mobile!');
});

It only works if I use $('body') or $('div') as a selector. Not with ID's or classes.

PS: I'm using Android to test.

Hi there,

I have the following question.

In my code, I first declare a GLOBAL property to store all my global var's in, (with already some properties)

Then, later in de code I declare some more properties for my GLOBAL object.

I have to stuff multiple objects in global var populated in a foreach loop and seperated by a comma.

To have a better insight in jQuery and JavaScript in general, I would like to read some documentation on how jQuery internally works? For educational purposes only, I would like to make my own basic jQuery library, just to understand the principle of this technique.

John Resig explains this in his book 'Pro JavaScript Techniques' but this is very modest.

For some reason the array isn't converted to JSON? When I use the following PHP array

... the output in Firebug = Object { name="John", time="2pm"}. So that works fine!

How come my array, where I use numbers as the index, isn't converted to JSON?

I need the HTML of (for example) #my_first_id. I cannot use $('#my_first_id').parent().html() because this would return all three childNodes.
