I'm using the jquery UI's autocomplete.I'd like it to behave like the Gmail's "To" textbox.
Specifically, I'd like it to highlight the first match as you type and if you press enter, then the highlighted value gets selected and the drop down disapears.
In other words, I don't want to have to use the up/down arrows or the mouse to make the selection.
How do I achieve that?

I have an piece of html in a jquery object. When I say $(this).html I get:<span class="value">4</span><span class="type">teaspoons</span>butterI want to get only the piece of text from this html segment that is not in the spans. in this example, it is butter.How do I get that?Thanks!- Hello all,

and a div:
<div id="results"></div>
Can you please show me the jQuery code that sets the target of the link to the div. I mean when the link is clicked by the user, I want the results coming from the server to populate the div asynchronously as opposed to causing a page refresh.
