Hi.

Validation in jquery starts with:

 ("#myinput").        
            rules        
         ("add", {
         required: true,
         minlength: 2
         .....
         ....
         zzzz zzzz


         Something more short and fun?
     
         Validation inline :)

         <input id="name" class="required">          and thats is all !!


        
        

 
 For more complex validation is necesary plugin metadata for process more validations.

How works?
With attribut class and rules inline and messages too.

Sample
class="{required:true,number:true}"  field required and number and so.

Another sample
class="{required:true,range:[8,10]}"   field required and value in range 8,10

For activate the validation.

$(document).ready(function(){     
    $("#form1").validate(); 
})

Rules in each field from form.
