Looking for help on trying to achieve what I can only call an advanced decimal mask for inputs to go with what my client is requesting.

I've used http://digitalbush.com/projects/masked-input-plugin/ lots in the past but it's not good for decimal numbers, can do a mask of 9999.99 for 1234.56 but that wouldn't allow 123.45

I have just found and tried http://www.meiocodigo.com/projects/meiomask/ which is almost there as it has a couple of decimal masks that work, but not quite as my client would like.

What they want is for the field to start with the cursor to the left of the decimal point: 0|.00

Start typing and it goes to the left: 123|.00

Type . on the keyboad, cursor now to the right of the decimal point: 123.|00
and now can type after the decimal point: 123.45|

This is so they can quickly enter whole numbers like 123.00 without having to bother typing the .00

I have a jQuery click event handler on the dethead tr's which is fine.
But what I want to find in this click event handler is the previous <h3> to the clicked <tr>

So if I click on item1, item2 or item3 I want to find the <h3>Heading 1</h3>
I click on item4, item5 or item6 I want to find the <h3>Heading 2</h3>

NOTE: Not all the <h3> will have the same classes, if any class at all.

Been trying various things from Tree Traversal but have not found the right combination.

Given the above, how would I select those that HAVE class1, but NOT class2, don't care about class3

So what I want are the items on lines 1,5 & 6

How could the below be modified to achieve what I want, or do I need something completely different?

Hi,

Is there any way to set a UI dialog so that it's height is never bigger than the browser window height?
I want it to have auto height, but neve be taller than the browser window, if it is then scroll the dialogs content.

Initially thought maxHeight would do it, but then realised that's only for when resizing the dialog.

Hi,

Got the following code, which loads some html into a div, then set's the focus to a textbox:

This works fine with 1.4.2, but with 1.4.3 I get an error in jquery-1.4.3.js using Firebug:
handler is undefined

This happens on line 2 of the code

To me it looks as if the wrong .load method is being called, from the jQuery docs:
http://api.jquery.com/load/

Note: The event handling suite also has a method named .load(). Which one is fired depends on the set of arguments passed.

I think the event .load method is being called because line 1797 in jquery-1.4.3.js

1. if ( handler.handler ) {

and comments around it talk about binding events to objects etc.

Can anyone confirm this is the case, or something else is causing the error with 1.4.3

How can I search or find in the array?
I tried test.indexOf('27/12/2010') but it always returns -1

Is this possible with JavaScript or jQuery?
Or do I need to format the array differently?

Hi,

Using Keith Woods fantastic datepicker plugin.

I've got a textbox setup with the datepicker enabled, using the noWeekends options, and also the datepicker validation dpDate rule.

This works fine in that can't select weekends, and get an error displayed when an invalid date is entered.

Is it possible to have a different error message when a weekend is keyed into the textbox?
Currently, if a weekend is keyed, the standard "Please enter a valid date" message is show, same as if I key 99/99/9999 for example.

Would be great if the message could be something like "Cannot choose a weekend" when a weekend is keyed, but keep the "Please enter a valid date" for rubbish dates.

Is this possible?

I've written my own custom validation method using addMethod which works great.
But what I'd like to do is change the error message depending on which part of the validation it fails on.

I've tried defining & using a var for the message but the message never changes, a very simple cut-down example:

2. $.validator.addMethod("myvalidator", function(value, element) {
3.     var returnVal = true;
4.    
       if (value.length === 0) {
5.         customError = "cannot be blank";
6.         returnVal = false;
7.     }

9.     if (value.length > 10) {

11.         returnVal = false;

14.     return returnVal;
15. }, "Error: " + customError);

The message is always only "Error: "
The value of customError is changing (can be seen in Firebug) but it's never appended to the message.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi,

Got a couple of html buttons that I'm applying the jQuery UI button widget to, with icons on the buttons.

These buttons have a css style to set the width & height.
In IE the icons are fine, to the left of the button in the middle aligned with the text.
However, in Firefox 3.6 the icon is at the bottom left corner of the button.

If I take the height style off the button then the icon is aligned correctly.
