Inherited this code, is there a better way

I have inherited the code in the attached doc. (tried to include it here but exceeded limits.), and, although I am very new to tablesorter, JQuery and AJAX, I can not help but feel that tablesorter is not being used quite correctly here.

The following functionality works as the developer intended:

promoTable.clear.click. (line 667)

promoTable.auto_search.click (called on line 637. Function begining on line 661)

The double click functions (lines 648 through 659)

promoTable.filtered_search.click (line 630)

All of this does what the developer intended. I am just not sure it is making use of tableSorter (line 358) and tableSorterPager (line 393) correctly. Here is why.

This code hits the DB for every sort by calling the function 'get_promo_code' (line 397in the tablesorterPager section). This seems to bypass what tablesorter is for.

Is there a way to keep all of the functionality I outlined above, but allow tablesorterPager to operate as intended for the paging and sorting? Or, because the call to 'get_promo_code' is needed for the 'Search' and 'Full Search' capabilities, am I tied to always making that call?

This is all quite new to me, so any and all help will be appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of a forum more strictly dedicated to tablesorter, please let me know. I know this is a JQuery forum and this is dealing with more than JQuery.

This is a followup to my last post.

If either is answered I will end the other.

As a jQuery/Ajax/tablesorter novice, I was hoping someone could explain what this code is actually doing (rather than me continuing to go on my assumptions). It seems to me, if I am seeing this correctly, that the developer began with too much happening.

I see the following happening:

1 - The campaign_array is getting loaded

2 - The $.ajax call on line 10 is happening

3 - The call to get _campaign_summary works, and the desired information is returned

4 - I can see the info required for the table in data through the console log - line 16

5 - Lines 17-19 seem to be calling get_campaign_summary again. This time the campaign_array parameter is empty so, as it should, my page does not show the table. (I can see this in a log file I write to in get_campaign_summary)

So, if what he wants is for the table to reload with the data retrieved by get_campaign_summary, what needs to come out (an assumption because of the two calls to get_campaign_summary) and what needs to change?

I have figured out how to get the page to do what they were looking for using append.

I have taken over someones code, and most of this is very new to me.Below are the files I am working with. What is supposed to happen is that the page loads with an empty table. Then after a value, or values, are selected from the drop down, the tablesorter table should refresh based on the results from a query. Right now, the select works, the submit works, but the table does not refresh.

I know this is a lot to look at, and will probably be quite confusing. I will attempt to answer any questions. If need be, I can try attaching the full files (including the page HTML and query), but I'm trying to show only what I think is really needed.

As I said, I have taken over someone else's code, and I myself am having difficulty with it. It seems over complicated, but this is what I have to work with.

In campaigns.js, I can see that the query has run and I have the correct information in "data"

I am just not sure how to get the campaign_summary.table to reload with this new data.

tablesorter and SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS

The IT department I just started with is developing with NginX, Dreamweaver, PHP, MySQL etc. and the Tablesorter plugin.

I have attempted using SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS in a query so I can get the full count for use with tablesorter. However, SELECT FOUND_ROWS() does not return the full count. Has anyone on this forum experienced this? If so, is there a way to use SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS with this set-up?

I will also look for a Deamweaver forum and ask there, but was hopeful a Tablesorter user might have an answer.
