UI Tabs disabled by default

Hi Everyone I wonder if someone could help.

I'm creating a tabstrip but apart from the first item all the tabs are disabled. i've tried to use "enable" but that stops the tabstrip from actually rendering.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong ?
