How to display the page loading widget while loading dynamic content?

Hello,
I'm often adding content dynamically using $.getJson in order to retrieve values from a php script.

The problem is that it takes a few seconds to get the content and to display it.

How can I display the loading widget during that delay?

Changing a radio button's label causes rendering problem

Hello everyone,
when I change a radiobutton's label text; the button does not render correctly.
Once the text has changed, this button's padding is not correct anymore as there seems to be no padding around the new text which results in a smaller button for that radiobutton only.

I'm changing the text like this:
1. $("label[for=myradiobuttonid]").text('newText');

Hello Everyone,
I know there is a discussion on Github about this but I think it has been closed.
So, if not already done, here's something that is preventing me to use sliders in my projects...

I need to be able to detect when the user has finished sliding to get the slider's new value only when it has finished changing. By default, an event is dispatched while the slider is changing; but it is not what I need.

I have this json file (here under) , I'm already using $.getJSON and $.each to get each val1 and val2;

Hello,
I'm having a problem where a can't detect when a slider's value changed (in order to dispatch the event only once the user has finished changing the event).

Actually, the "change" event is dispatched when the slider is being changed or at least, it is dispatched multiple times if a users change the value with multiple steps.

That is a big problem for me and I can't find a way to solve this.

A "changed" or "hasFinishedChanging" event would be really appreciated.

Hello everyone,
I'm using sliders for my user interface ( <input type="range"... ).

I delegated the change event on all my page's sliders like this:
1. $("myPage").delegate("[type='number']","change",function(){
2. //do something
3. });
The problem is that doing so, the event is dispatched multiple times when the user is changing the value.

I need to dispatch the event once the user has finished using the slider.
I tried those events without success: "vmouseup, mouseup".

How to detect that a radio-group or a range input's value changed without using the change event?

Hello everyone,
I need to have multiple radio group reflecting sliders values and the opposite (so when a radio changes to 0, put slider to 0, if radio changes to 100, change slider to 100)
Delegating a "change" event would work except that it gives a loop as if an input's value, I change an other input that triggers a change event etc...

So my question is: Which event should I use to detect that a user changed a slider's value or a radio group?

In the following example, you can see that if you modify the "change" event with vclick, click or tap, it doesn't work.

Dear JQuery Mobile Team and users...

I was used to develop in Adobe Flex for my user interface project.
It allowed me to force a list to be displayed in a kind of grid without having to fix the grid's width (and the number of blocks) as it is updated on-the-fly depending on the grid's content.

I would love being able to dynamically add content to a grid without knowing how many elements I will have to add (thus the number of rows in the grid).

Would you think about developping such a layout possibility to JQM?

Hello everyone,
for my project, I can't use the change event; but I need to find an event that is triggered when a user clicked or touched a slider or a flip toggle switch on mobile devices and on desktop browsers (at least on safari and chrome).

Has anyone been able to do this?
I tried the tap, touch and vclick events but they do no seem to work...

Hello,
I'm sorry if my title is not very clear...

I have multiple items in a page.
Each item has a slider and a flip toggle switch that are displaying the item's value.

The slider and the flip toggle switch should display the same value.
This is OK when the pages loads but when the user
- is changing the slider, the toggle switch should reflect the new value
- is changing the toggle switch, the slider should reflect the new value.
The slider has a range from 0 to 100 and the toggle has 3 choices:
1. OFF (value = 0 on the slider)
2. a variable value between 0 and 100
3. ON (value = 100 OR means bigger than > 0 on the slider)
To do that, I'm using:

The problem is that when a user changes the slider, I have to change the radio's value to reflect the slider's new value and then a change event is detected and the entire step runs again... A kind of loop except that if the value is between 0 and 100, it will finally value 100 because the radio can only be changed automatically to 0 or to 100.
I guess I have to undelegate the change event before I change slider or the toggle switch and then delegate the change event again, with the entire code described before but how to do that without having to repeat the code endlessly?

EDIT: I think the solution is to replace the "change" event by a mouse or touch event, but I can't find an event that works on both Google Chrome and an Android tablet...

and click on page 1, there is a flip toggle switch with a change event bound to it.

Every time the change event is fired, a message is displayed.

You will see that the event is fired multiple times.

Hello every one,
I have a flip toggle switch in my "home" page.
My problem is that I want to add a change event to my switch, but before that, I want to be able to update the switch value if needed without triggering the change event.

In the javascript I have this:
$(document).ready( function(){

$('#home').bind('pageshow', function() {
myFunction() // here is a function I call to change the flip toggle switch's value depending on json data when the page is shown
});

//Detect if toggle's value changed
              $('#mySwitch').change(function(){
//call a function triggered when the toggle switch's value is change by a user
                          });
});
Everything works except that the change event is triggered on pageshow by myFunction as I change the slider like this in the function:
1. $('#mySwitch').val(myInitValue).slider("refresh");
I hope anyone can help me as I'm totally lost... I can't find a solution for this.

slider not toggling using javascript

Hello,
I'm using beta1 and testing with latest Chrome Browser (12.0.742.112).

I have this toggle switch in my home page:
2. <select id="myToggle" name="value" data-role="slider" data-theme="c">
3. <option value="0" selected="true>OFF</option>
4. <option value="250">ON</option>
5. </select>
If i do the following, my switch never toggles:
1. $(document).ready(function () {
2. $('#myToggle').selectedIndex = 1;
3. $('#myToggle').slider("refresh");
4. });
Does anybody know how to solve this?

Hello,
I am using this code:

But on both Chrome and Android, my icons are now under or over the text in the lists.
This problem appeared with Beta 1.

Hello Every one,

I 'm using $.getJSON to populate my page's content.
This page contains a div called "listDiv" that is empty before the $.getJSON function is called.

Here's the content added to the div for each item return in my function which means that I have
as many forms in my page as the number of items.
1. $('#listDiv').append(
2. '<form action="Scripts/update_element.php" method="post">
3. <div data-role="fieldcontain">
4. <input type="range" name="target" id="Slider-'+ this.post.element_id +'" value="'+ this.post.actval/2.5 +'" min="0" max="100" onchange="this.form.submit()"/>

My problem is that the form seems to be submitted by the onchange event when the page is created and not only when the slider is changed.
How could I fix this?

Hello,
I have a cookie that contains a select's last selected value. The cookie is well written and assigned to a variable 'myCookie'.

I'm populating a select's options using a php script with $.getJSON

Once the select is populated, how to set its value to myCookie's value?
I thought it was:
1. $('#mySelectID').val(myCookie);
But the select does not seem to be updated (or does not show the updated value).

I very new to jquery and jquery mobile.
I have a select menu

This menu is filled with options like this:

I'm sure that the xml is correctly giving an output as if I append it to a div in stead of the #selectZone, I get the content displayed correctly.

What am I doing wrong?
