Animating a dropdown menu
So I have done this meniu and I have 2 problems. 1. When I hover on a link, it does 2 animations, but when I "unhover", it doesn't reset the default values also with animations. I kwon the problem might be the display none in the css, but I really have no ideea how to get around that. 2. jQuery UI Autocomplete After request hook/event?
Hi, I'm using jQuery UI Autocomplete search and open events. But the open event is only called when the request is successful and there are elements. There does not seem to be an event when the response is successful but empty. IE9 + prototype + jQuery conflict
Hi Everyone, I've noticed this strange conflict when trying to get the width of a jQuery object in IE8/9 when prototypejs is also loaded. I'm using the latest version of prototypejs. version 1.7 IE8/9 w/o prototype works correctly. IE7 w/ prototype work correctly. The object I'm trying to get the width from is a DIV with absolute positioning and a width of 500px in the style attribute. It's called #INFO_DIALOG. // supposed to return 500, but returns the WINDOW width. same as jQuery(window).width();
Jquery Issue
I have content (done in jquery) that gets added to a website (anyone on the web, which means I have no way of knowing what they are using). I started with doing a jquery check to see if jquery needed to be installed, but found that my content needed a new version, which others didn't have installed on their site. JqueryMobile/Drop down to display US States
I noticed when I select an US state from the drop down, If I selected Wyoming where it was last state in the drop down , the next time I go back to the drop down again, it only displays 25 states starting from Wyoming, I cannot scroll back to the 1st state in drop down any more. autocomplete: how to hook on on blur events?
hi I've a autocomplete on top of an input text and I would like to hook in each time the user changes something in it. I tried to put a blur() on it but then the autocomple behavior wasn't working anymore. How can I get both ? For some willing to know, I'm trying to do an autocomplete where only the values selected from the list of choices are accepted. Any hint welcome

Hi gang, Is there an extension or plugin that could take a url to some media -- video, audio, image -- and just load it / display it on the page? I came across jQuery Media (http://jquery.malsup.com/media/), and it looks like a good start at what I'd need. Although it just focuses on video and audio, not general images. jQuery 1.5 .load() - possible bug with imported Javascript?
Forgive me if I'm mistaken with this I haven't been using jQuery for long. Ideas on absolute positioning of dynamic content in mobile web app?
Hi, I'm currently developing a mobile web app using jQuery Mobile and before I get to far deep I'd like to hear your thoughts about using absolute positioning of dynamic content in a mobile web app! I use it when I need to populate data from database through php and ajax and in this case I think it is convenient to "design" a template page with absolute positioning my divs. I use different class names for all fields I want to replace with my data from ajax using things like: $(newRow).find(".row_header").text(object.NAME);
Getting $_FILES from input.
Hello, i have a form with a file upload. When i click on the submit button i will send the file with $.post to my php script. In the PHP Script i must use the variable $_FILES[]. How can i realize this? I try $('form').find("id").get(0).files[0] but it return an object and not $_FILES[]. Can anyone help me? trying to understand callbacks
Im new to js and jquery. I have created some nice animations and stuff but I am stuck in one point. Ive searched everywhere, checked every document and tutorial but I cant find where I am making the mistake. why isnt this working? $(document).ready(function(){ $('#startButton').click(function() { alert("wtf1"), (function() { alert("wtf2"); }); }); });the first function gets called but the wtf2 is never called.
Retrieving margin-left in Firefox & Opera
Stumbled onto this one: retrieving the margin doesn't seem to work in Firefox or Opera. This is code I'm using, which works fine in Chrome, Safari and IE: var contentmarginl = parseInt($('#wrapper').css('marginLeft')); // fails var contentwidth = $('#wrapper').width(); // works alert(contentmarginl); The alert returns (in my case) 350 in the complying browsers and 0 in FF and Opera. How to get the XML document part after using $.get()

Is there any way to achieve this without using something like .each() ? If I do: alert( oUIxml.text() );It'll get me all the text values from all nodes as one big chunk of text. Most efficient way to search only some children of div?
Given this sample HTML: <div> <span class="searchme">some text</span> <span class="ignoreme">some more text</span> <span class="searchme">yet more text</span> <span class="ignoreme">finally some last text</span> </div> What is the most efficient way to determine if some search text is found within the div and ONLY in any one of the spans inside with a class of searchme? I would write same vote system as on bash.org.pl. + and - are linked to controller 'vote', when i click on them, div called for e.g. 123_vote(where '123' is id of object) will refresh with new value loaded from database, and div 123_msg will refresh with message. Lost again - datepicker output format
Where is the date format changeable in a custom downloaded datepicker? I only find jquery.ui.datepicker.js in the development-bundle folder of the download. How can I change - simply, I am new - the date format to m/d/yy. More correctly -- where? Thanks.

SUBMIT buttons, value not passed to PHP by Firefox etc

A piece of code which used to work under IE and FF (Chr, Opera, SAfari) now only works under IE. The failing code is given below. Looking at the PHP the code uses AJAX to submit a query. Jquery level problem

click event fires twice
I ran inro a problem recently which i haven't found any solution to. i generated a subnode for all unordered lists which are Childs of List-Elements like this: <ul> <li>1</li> <li>2 <ul> <li>2.1</li> <li>2.2</li> </ul> </li> <li>3</li> </ul> The generated list works fine and looks like this: 1 2 2.2 2.2 back <-Generated Element <li class="back">back</li> 3 but if I click the Back button the Event fires twice

Magic Line menu error
Hi guys I used a piece of code from a tutorial and edited it to get it working on my site, it works but for some reason it shows up differently on different browsers. On my home machine using IE8 it has the line below the text and the text at the top of the page, on my work machine also on IE8 it has the line above the text and the text in the middle of the menu bar. This is also how it displays in Firefox and Safari on my home machine as well. Very strange. I don't know enough about jQuery

Starting jquery-1.4, in IE8, html() returns null for a non-HTML element (e.g. <xml)
In IE8, for the following HTML, $('#myXML').html() returns null starting jquery-1.4. This used to return the contents of the <xml> tag in jquery-1.3. Any ideas, how do I get the contents of <xml> tag?
