Hello Everybody, I continue to read "jQuery In Action" and one doubt came into my mind when I was reviewing the chapter 4 that talks about Event handlers. Within a particular code sample (bamboo.html), the author has written a ".change(fn...)" method with a function to handle the event that manipulates the changes made within an "input[type=text]" to reflex the price to pay against the amount of product the client selects , and, at the end of the same wrapped set, it's included a call to the "change()"

detect if event is launched in children of certain parent
I have something like that <li>My menu item <ul> <li>my submenu item</i> <li>my submenu item</i> <li>my submenu item</i> </ul> </li> The problem is that when the mouse goes from the main <li> to the children <li> a mouseout event is generated from the main li. My idea is that if I can detect that the the mouseout is happening at a child of my main <li> then I should be able to stop the handler with an "if" or something. So how would I do that? TIA

Hi I'm completely new to jQuery and Javascript but I have extensive (10+ years) with Flash and Actionscript. I want to create a dyanmic tree menu, but I wonder what is the best way to get the data from a MySql database. Honestly, compared to AS3, the implementation of XML seems very primitive... In As3 you simply move around the xml as if those were objects using E4X. This way: MyXML.myNode.myChild[3].text() So I wonder, what is the best way to work with data from the DDBB? Pausing execution until remove() is complete?
My setup is simple, a user clicks a link that runs some AJAX, loading a form. I append the form to an element with a dummy class called "posting". There is more than one link like this on a page, so the first time the user clicks everything happens as it should. I bind some form events to control the submit and key events (for a character counter). If the user clicks one of the other links, the same thing should happen except this time it should check to see if another form with the class "posting"

jQuery Tabs in Chrome not loading
I have implemented the jQuery Tabs UI component into a website im working on. The tabs appear fine Internet Explorer (see screenshot), however in Chrome, the tabs arent tabs. They are a list. Delete only table row
I have a table where I have the ability to remove table rows using $('#tr_1').remove(); for example It works fine until I try to delete the last table row and then the only row left will not delete any ideas why?
ChangePage not working in WIndows Phone 7
I have 3 pages, home, settings and help . I am using anchor tags and a javascript function to switch pages. One example is given below to switch from home page to settings page. Cannot remove header back button
I am using jQuery mobile to build a demo project for class. I have created a navbar at the top and when I click on an item in the navbar, a back button is automatically generated and placed under the navbar. This back button extends out the bottom of the navbar, making my navbar look funny. I have applied both data-backbtn=”false” and data-nobackbtn="true" to the header div and neither one fixes it. How to grab the ID of a selected DIV
Hi - I'm trying to use the "selectable" feature - and need to find the IDs of the DIVs which have been selected. When I run the code below, all I keep getting is the ID of the first DIV in the selectable DIV (ie. 2011-01-01). Getting " object has no method 'addclass'" error
Heya everybody, I'm still quite a newbie concerning jQuery, so I suppose the problem exists on my side and not in jQuery. I'm getting the error Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'addclass' (anonymous function)/pre-alpha/:27 d.extend._Deferred.f.resolveWithjquery.min.js:16 d.d.extend.readyjquery.min.js:16 d.c.addEventListener.y I'll just post you all my script code and the affected html elements, it's not so much anyway and that way I think you might find my error most easily.
Custom Icons

Selecting a class and a variable defined ID at the same time
I'm trying to select a class (.home) and an ID (#something) at the same time, normally I'd use: $(".home,#something") but in this instance, the ID is already stored in a variable called "newpage" - I'm trying the following: $(newpage,".home") but I'm having no luck, can someone help me with the correct syntax here? thanks. (note, selecting the id on it's own with just $(newpage) does work, so I know the issue isn't with my variable, it's just a matter getting both the class and the variable stored
Adding elements with unique ids automatically generated

Javascript version of native UIPickerView Spinner
Hi, Has anyone developed a Javascript version of the native UIPickerView spinner ? I need one of these that is populated from a database and the data shown in each of the reels is dependant upon each other. For example: Reel 1 = Country Reel 2 = City Reel 3 = Football Team If a country is chosen then the second reel shows the appropriate countries. If a city is chosen then the third reel shoes the appropriate football teams. Anyone done this? Thanks

Hi everyone I upgraded an intranet project to jQuery UI 1.8.8 a couple of months back, from 1.7.3 I've since further upgraded it with each new UI release and am currently running 1.8.11 There are a couple of niggles I've noticed that have appeared in UI tabs widget between 1.7.3 and 1.8.1 I've asked about these in the Using jQueryUI forum and on IRC but not got any response to I fear these might be bugs. Image slider with something extra
I am trying to create a slider that has an extra feature to the image transitioning. When an image is shown I would like to have it zoom in a bit. Then after the specified time the images switches to the next one. Any ideas on how I could achieve that? thanks

Animate show after a hide.
I'm trying to get jquery to show a specific div "apDiv2" after a hide effect. Basically the click function will hide all divs with ids containing 'adDiv' in the id and then I want to fade up a specific div based on the id of the clicked object. It hides all the divs correctly but the show doesn't seem to work. ThemeRoller Zip file export corrupt
I've been trying to download a custom ThemeRoller theme but everytime I try windows says the file is corrupt. I've tried different browsers and different PC's but always the same.. Pages loads but without styling when i use a URL redirect
Im having an issue with a mobile site I am building using jQuery mobile. When i navigate to the following http://localhost/stores I get various results depending on the way I access this page. If i navigate to it through the home page of my site, the page is fine and styled correctly. However if I directly access it, it seems to loose all the jQuery Styles ? any ideas ? Thanks
