1.7 - release status

Thanks for everyone that has helped with the 1.7 release up to this point. We've made some really fine progress since the last release candidate. We're now down to 1 code blocker

If you feel any of the remaining code criticals should block this release, please change the priority to 'blocker'. In any case, there's still some time to work on them as we ready the rest of the release.
