accordion problems

I'm having problems with ui.accordion.js in both Firefox and Safari
(remarkably, it works great in IE!)

In Firefox, the animation is jerky and really slow; in Safari, the
first accordion's height is miscalculated so content spills out of the
bottom of the box.
Any help would be appreciated
