allfields - ie error

Hi, I have copied some piece of code from some tutorial few weeks ago, especially this: allFields.removeClass( "ui-state-error" );

I'm not really sure what the allFields exactly is but when using it, IE8 gives me error - "allFields is undefined"
so I want to ask is there some equivalent to allFields? thanks
