are all jquerymobile phone apps browser based ?

must a jquerymobile app use the phone's browser or can the app be totally independent?

if must use the phone's browser, can the app still have an icon on the phone desktop?

can the app be logged in continuously, such as to receive order updates or program updates from the main site?
