Beginners help - right after downloading (please)

Can anyone direct me to a page that shows me how to install/begin using jquery. I want to make an accordian site and I keep finding every website assumes that everyone knows what to do with the downloads.
Honestly - I am surprised that the writers of most of the jquery sites have not created a step by step to get you going.

1. Downloading 1.4 means the screen changes to a whole line of code: What do I do with that? copy and paste into my index.html? which leads to in the head tag or? do i make it my snippet in dreamweaver cs3?

2. I have downloaded the jquery_UI_Accordian.mxp but then do I install that into my Dreamweaver cs3? Which leads to ... How do I install it? If I don't install it what do I do with it?

These are frustrating but valid problems that jquery and other sites do not explain. They assume I know what to do - I was really hoping someone will show me and I do mean all of this in sincerity so that others can enjoy what it does as well. I am sure others gave up because of not knowing what to do.
