Can I place a dropdown list on the navigation toolbar using the jQuery Mobile library?

Can I place a dropdown list on the navigation toolbar using the jQuery Mobile library?

My attempts (see attached image) have not met with much success. If possible can someone post an example?

What I am trying to achieve is a page showing a monthly calendar with an associated toolbar allowing the user to navigate to the next/previous month or select a month from a dropdown list.
