[SOLVED] Can't Get Slicknav to Work (Joomla)

I am building a website and trying to get slicknav to make a mobile menu on a Joomla CMS. I have gone so far as to completely remove the menu that is supposed to be there and populate it with a simple ul > li > a menu. jQuery loads before slicknav.js and the function points to the id of the ul. Slicknav will not create a menu, however, and I can't figure out why. I have verified the site can see the slicknav.js script, by loading it, directly. IDK what else to do.
