Can you preload and internal page?

Hi, I have stumbled into the following problem whilst trying some JQM - I have created a mini-version in a fiddle here to show what the problem is, http://jsfiddle.net/59gwp/ .

In my code I want to call the disable_button before the page is transitioned to but I cannot get it to work only once the page is loaded (see commented out code). I am not sure if it is possible to preload and internal page - if so how?
