My name is Alvaro Prieto, I developed a small jquery plugin which can be used to allow html table columns resizing, (similar to the resizable() method but applied to tables). It is compatible with touch and mouse devices, it is cross-browser and compatible with previous versions of jQuery. If you like it, I would be happy to donate it to the jQuery UI project.
