Completed JavaScript refresher - where next?
Hello
I used to do JavaScript years and years ago but hadn't returned to it until just recently. I worked my through "JavaScript in 24 Hours" which was very basic but fine as a refresher - it all came back pretty quickly. I used to do a fair bit of ActionScript too which has some similarities.
So I'm comfortable with the basics again but I get the impression that real world use of JavaScript has moved on quite a bit so I'm wondering where I need to go next. I posted to the jQuery forum as first I imagine the answer will be "jQuery" and second because I figure there are lots of JavaScript experts here.
So, where next? If I walked into a web agency tomorrow claiming to be a "JavaScript guy" what will they expect me to know? jQuery? node.js? backbone.js?
In other words - what's the modern JavaScript landscape look like?
Any help appreciated - bearing in mind I'm a competent and experienced programmer anyway - mainly C/C++/Objective-C these days - so really I'm just looking for pointers not lectures ;)
