Confirmation on what happens when 2 versions of jquery are loaded.

Hi everyone. My Google skills are not working great today and I am just looking for confirmation that I understand what happens when 2 versions of jquery are loaded.

In the head of out page we are first loading jquery 1.7.1 then a couple of lines down 1.9 is being loaded. There is no noConflict() code on the page.

When 1.9 is loaded the 1.7.1 version goes away correct? 1.9 has been there since day one of the project so if I remove the 1.7.1 reference nothing that currently works should break since it has been using 1.9 this whole time?

Obviously I will go back and retest every page but I just want to confirm I understand what is going on here.
