Content generation
Content generation
<div dir="ltr">Good morning everyone,
with all the new widgets we're currently planning, there are two immediate technical issues to solve for
all of them.
<b>a) Content generation / templating</b>
jQuery right now is not sufficient to generate large blocks of HTML. Marc and I often talked about this issue,
and now with more plugins arriving like the Grid component, we have the immediate need for a good code
generation technique.
Here are a two examples of how it could be done:
1) JSON style DOM creation (<a href="http://flydom.socianet.com/">http://flydom.socianet.com/</a>)
2) Append once (static html), then clone+change technique
<br clear="all">We have to find a solution that is clean, fast, small. I personally vote for the first - the second sounds a bit
cooler, but with every cloned element, while the clone itself is fast, you have to use selectors to change stuff
in your new clone, and that makes it a bit slower.
<b>b) Localization</b>
This is not my strong talent, and I have never dealt much with localization before. However, with the
grid coming, localization is now needed for more than just the datepicker. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul
