crop plugin with image resize

Hi,

I am using a flickr badge and cropping the thumbnails down to uniform size with the jQuery cop plugin. Thing is, flickr only offers 3 different sizes of thumbnails and the largest ones are the closest to the size I need but I would like to resize to X% or Xpx wide before the image is cropped. Can anyone suggest the best possible way to do this?
