Cycle Plugin, IE8 and Prototype

The cycle plugin in IE8 styles the images to the full size of the browser window if the prototype library is also being loaded. All other browsers tested ( IE6, IE7, FF 3, FF 3.6, Safari 4 & 5 (PC), Chrome, Opera) work fine.

Any ideas why?
