Dialog accessing parent

What I am trying to do is have the open media viewer button open the media viewer in a dialog. When you select the image I try to get the media viewer to send the image id to the correct textbox from the tab opened. I can not get the dialog to send the information back.

The dialog is also not loading the ajax in IE but it does work in Firefox and Chrome.
