disjointed rollovers with jCarouselLite
Hello jQuery World,
I am wondering if anyone has ever successfully created disjointed rollovers, or custom tooltip graphics for use with a jCarouselLite photo gallery. I have a horizontal photo gallery strip with arrows on the left and right sides of the gallery to click through the photos. The photos continue to loop and start all over as you click through in either direction. I've created custom bubble graphics with descriptive text for each photo that are to appear above when you rollover the photos.
I almost had it working by using a drawn layer that I positioned by eye above the first photo in the gallery on the left side -- I had to keep going back and forth from preview to adjusting the layer css positioning to get it just where I wanted it. However the problem with that was as the photo gallery was clicked through scrolling the photos left and then began to repeat over on the right side of the gallery, the rollover didn't move with the photo -- it was not connected to moving position with the first photo that WAS moving. When the first photo appeared again on the right end of the gallery, upon mouseover, the rollover did appear, but in its original position, still over on the left side of the gallery. How can I connect the rollover to move with the photo so that it works no matter what position the photo is in?
Part of the problem is that now that I've used jCarouselLite, I can't see the photos anymore in my Dreamweaver 8 document. I can only see them when I preview. It makes it hard to position anything. But there must be a way to do this. Or would you go a different route altogether? Any ideas?
