Easy way for a dropline menu?

Hello,

I'm looking for a plugin or good explained tutorial about making a dropline menu using jQuery. What I need:

two levels - main and submenu
support for "current" state
submenu visible when main element has a class of current

Is there anything like that? Tried to Google around but all I found were some examples of what I'm trying to achieve, but since I'm a newbie to jQuery, I would love some explanation/tutorial
