This major problem with Zoho search absolutely needs to be fixed soon.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Do a forum search.
Observe: a list eventually comes-up
2) Now, process the list which, by the way, gives you little or no search-string context usage.
Observation: Guys, we are in 2010. Google has been doing this for years. Your search results implementation is very, very weak. You need to show more, an example of the match. Small text is OK.
3) Ctrl+click to "open in new tab" with the intent to look-at a half-dozen or more of these results.
Observe: New tab opens and contains the new page (woot!) BUT the origin-page ALSO flops to the new page.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Processing search results is therefore a click-then-backSpace proposition, each of which includes that charming ajax loader that says, there go another 2-5 seconds, wasted. You cannot pre-load a bunch of them so you can download in the background while you process the foreground.
RECOMMENDATION: Knock off the crummy javascript that seriously limits the usability of this site.
Note: I never did find what I was looking for. I gave up, exasperated, after looking at 4-pages, which took far too long.
A question for the jQuery team: how are people supposed to be helpful if they cannot easily find prior pages to point-to with solutions we have covered before?
