Experience = ZERO. Write the code or use a plugin?

Hey, I am new here. Hello!

I was approached by a company boss regarding a "product picker."

This picker would:

1 - Ask 5 questions
2 - Based on the results, provide a few product selections from say 20 products.

I jumped at the chance to expand my skillset.

Questions I have based on the fact I am not a programmer but can find my way around website code:

1 - This seems like a great exercise to begin to learn jquery. But am I underestimating the complexity of the language?

2 - Is there a tutorial that teaches something similar to this? (I do not know if I'm using the right terminology to say "product picker")

3 - If I were to use a "plugin" or code online (if the deadline gets tight) where would be a good place to look for such a thing?
