Fixed Vertical CSS Menus & Offset from top of page

Fixed Vertical CSS Menus & Offset from top of page

Hi,

I want to achieve a vertical list menu that travels with the page when scrolling down (which I've done with 'position: fixed; top: 80px;' in css). That 80px is the height of my header so they don't overlap.

The next step for this menu is for it to sit at the very top of the page when scrolling past the 80px to not have that 80px of white space above the menu when scrolling down the page.

Essentially I want the page to take the menu with it. Anyone got any ideas? I'm sure it can be done by finding when the page has been scrolled past the 80px and removing the 'top: 80px;' rule. However, I'd love it if it can scroll gracefully through that 80px.

I hope this makes sense!

Ta,

Scott.
