Help Needed to Solve "slideshow" Issue with hyperlinks

I am designing a website using jQuery slideshow. All categories on the menu have sometimes four or five "pages" ( <div> ) that are controled by buttons to create the filling of navigating. However, by clicking within any part of the text can also move the user to the next "page". Some of those"pages" have hyperlinks that by clicking will redirect users to go to a new browser window. 
The issue I have is when user clicks on those hyperlinks the immediate action is to take them to the next "page".

Would it be possible to keep the user in the same page when clicking in those hyperlinks?

Could somebody help me to solve this issue?

NOTE: I have created momentarily two extra pages within "Resources" section to keep the user in the same page wile I am trying to solve this issue with the rest of the website.
