I have used various icons on buttons - kind of like a visual cue as to what the button will display in the tab-set below.

 

Tab are created on the fly as buttons are clicked.

 

I would like the tab label itself to have the same icon as the button that "created" it.

 

But apparently the tab labels are too small for the icon causing the icon and the text of the tab to not align.

 

Is there are tried-and-trued way of accomplishing this?
