How to create a jQuery pager?

I am trying to create a pager (similar to Example 4) and I tried using the creators file (from the download link) and it just never worked. Can anyone please help me? I just want to know how to use it...if you know other examples or places that could help me figure out how to build one, I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you!
