How to open a new page or link in lightbox instead of new tab or window?

In the jquery, I am using this for opening a page but browser popup blocker blocks the page:

window.open("http://www.newpagelink.com");

Is there any way to open the link/page in lightbox or fancybox rather than new tab or window?
