I have modified an existing plugin: touchwipe, and I want to know the right way to share it. I changed the plugin to trigger events when the user swipes up, down, left, and right. The existing functionality uses call backs when the user swipes left and right. 

What is the right way to share this change with the community? Do I send to the original author or do I start a new plugin?

Any guidance would be helpful.
