how to use datepicker

Hi,
is there any usefull and good documentation on how to use datepicker? The documentation on site http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/#event-beforeShow and http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Datepicker is so bad that a 2 year old child could do it better.

I would like to see some actually usefull documentation on how to set min,max dates on beforeShow event?
How to disable visibility of Year in caledar and textbox?
