Images as Pager in Cycle

Hi,
Here's to hoping someone can help with this. I'm building a simple slideshow using cycle, using a numbered pager. However, I want to use images - not thumbnails, but separate images - to act as the pager numbers. (I have 5 main images for the slideshow, and 5 corresponding images for the pagers). Can someone point me in the right direction?
