Internet Explorer 6,7 swallow change events triggered with standard javascript:

I have found a bug in 1.4+, the problem is described here:

I have since forked, written a test, then patched the code (trivial) and submitted a bug report:

I am surprised that I haven't seen any movement on my ticket in a week.  Have I forgotten to do something?
